Project Description: Design a Coffee Shop from a pre-existing building

Concept Statement: The project is meant to take an old building and give it new life. The building was once a formal letter printing shop built in the 1920s. Binding Coffee is located at 232 Lafayette St. in downtown Baton Rouge. The name comes from the process of binding a book together. The concept of the coffee shop is to pay homage to the original building while having a sophisticated feel. The mixing of metals, dark neutrals and geometric patents combined with the industrial feel of an old school lettering shop with some modern touches. Binding Coffee is meant to draw people in from their corporate jobs and enjoy an inviting space. Whether that be to get some alone time or to meet with friends, Binding Coffee is a safe space for everyone.
